Watched this movie on my lappy (cause I downloaded it, obviously) and it wasn't that bad, considering that I watched it on my lappy.

Basically a thrilling movie about a few high school friends playing a game about lying. Two of them got so into the game and decided to spread a rumour through school email about a serial killer that strikes on a full moon, and ya, in the email they mentioned about the killer coming to their school to kill students on full moon. They thought it was just a prank but...

Good twisting at the end, and I mean the end. It's never the end until the screen goes blank. Acting skills of those students weren't that good actually, and I didn't know Bon Jovi was in the movie even though he played quite a significant role. Actually there's nothing wrong with his acting, it's just that I don't know how he looks like, and I still don't.

Watch it. But since it's not showing anymore in the cinemas (in Melbourne at least) you know I wasn't asking you to pay anything more than S$9 for this show...

There's nothing much to say about really cause it's been like a three weeks since I watched it. One line from the movie that keeps repeating in my mind though is 'avoid Suspicion, manipulate your friends, eliminate your enemies'. Too bad that's about all that I can clearly remember. HAHA. But I guess no one comes here anyway, I'm just trying to slowly build up a libray of reviews on the movies I've watched. So, ya, I watched Cry Wolf and this is the 'review'. Lalalaa...

Mission: Impossible III

Poof! IMF agent Ether Hunt is out for another mission! This mission came out of nowhere, and you might feel cheated. We were not revealed what they thing they're after do.

And that's kinda lame... Basically, Hunt went to the steal that thing, called the Rabbit Foot, to save his (just wedded) wife's live.

I bet the scriptwriter was just lazy about Rabbit Foot. It's like writing a movie about a mission but not having a thing that is actually worth the mission. (It's hard to say. I'm actually stuck at this sentence for nearly half an hour.)

It could had been called something more impressive like MC135 or something along that line; codes that we don't understand seems much professional and are so much better than Rabbit Foot.

Anyway, it's more of a mission to save his wife instead of saving the world. Not a great idea.

But actually the movie is better than what I've expected it to be!

Tom Cruise is as good as ever. Credits to him. He's also the producer by the way. There was constant action. This is truely an action-packed movie. Non-stop. Well, there's a few pauses for you to catch your breathe cause it's really nerve-breaking. Like, I could still feel my chest pumping after watching all the credits and walked for another two minutes.

But anyway, there's one or two touching sences. With the right soundtrack and motion effects, it was really tear-tearing. I just made that word up, something like nerve-breaking. =x

If you're into photography, there's two scenes that I'm impressed too. Not that I'm a guru in photography or what, but it's just good to me. Long one-shot scence is always good to me. It shows how good the camera-men are. One was when Hunt and his black mate was at the top of a Shanghai building, and the other one was when Hunt was running like mad to try to find the Rabbit Foot, yes, the Rabbit Foot. How anti-climax can that name be~

And this movie really live up to the names of Hollywood Motion Pictures. The mission crossed four countries, USA, Italy(it's actually the Vatican city), Germany(Berlin) and China (Shanghai). And of course as expected, Shanghai was the worse looking city of all. Obviously we chinese know that Shanghai is very western-influenced. But the director has his reason in choosing the more village-side of Shanghai. Maybe it was to say that the villian wanted low-key hideout, or maybe he just can't get any permit to film the movie in some modern buildings. Anyway, the impression that China is still way under-developed is there, even with the Shanghai tower.

Also, chinese are are being filmed as stupid. I have to admit mandrain sounds funny after almost 90min of English with US-accent. But still, if that wasn't the message they're trying to convey, surely there are ways to film the Shanghai part differently.

Having said all these, the movie had a giant twist at the end! That's all I'm going to say so that there's still reason for you to watch it...

But again... haha... typical Hollywood Movie. Some illogical things can pop up out of nowhere. And the good guys... will... ya... and the villians... you know the ending. But we can see those traditional shooting scenes taking a change. Heros can be shot too, but villians, if not the biggest one, are still an easy target.

My predictions? This movie might be amongst the best nominees for action-movie, simply because it's very hollywood and it might make those US rednecks judges happy by having chinese being filmed as idiots. I'm contridicting myself, it's still a nice movie, when you consider it an action, Hollywood movie of course. Maybe I've just focused too much on the bads rather than the goods so that this good movie won't turn out to be too good for my friends who haven't watch it. Lolz. Maybe I'm just human, bad things have a deeper impression rather than the good ones.

Final Destination 3

Well, watching FD 3 last Monday in cinema. Not a movie too bad though.

Typical FD style. There was a ride, which in the case we can see from the poster that it's a roller coaster ride, one person saw the accident before the ride started, made a fuss about it, some people got off the ride, and the accident happened. And of course, those who got off, died one by one, according to some pattern.

The computer affects weren't good. Like, there was a guy who was killed by gym equipment. The bars closed in his head from both sides and his head went ssssssmmmmmaaaaaaaaasssssssshhhhhheeeeeddd.

Ok, the word is smash. But anyway, don't know why, it just look fake. Gross, but because we don't see people's head getting smash that often, if ever.

Out of all the incidents, only one impressed me... That's the one at the factory. Watch it for yourself. It's exciting... Hehehe

The first instalment was the best. Maybe because back then it was a new idea, and so the excitement is there. Not recommended for people who watched any of the three episodes.

What makes FD3 different from FD and FD2 is...

MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD!!!

Oh what a beauty. She's actually the main character in the movie lo! Stupid Australian cinemas put that guy's name (I don't even know, cause I don't care) as the featured actor.

Her name is the top of the list at the credits damnit!

Back to Mary. She's the type of girl that I will just fall and faint onto the ground if I see in real life. Like asian and caucasian mixed. But she's actually pure American. Check out Sky High too. She's actually the reason why I wanna to watch FD3.

Anyway, bad computer effects. Typical FD storyline, not blaming them - it's FD, but, at least make those deaths exciting enough and have better effects. Might be nominated for Gloden Globes, but definitely not a prize winning movie. Watch it to support Mary Elizabeth Winstead!

Official DVD will out on 25th.
